How To Upgrade Opay Account

You can open an Opay account by downloading the Opay app from the Google Play Store or iOS store and tap on the “Register” button.

Get the Opay mobile app from the Android or iOS app store. Install it on your device and begin the registration process.

• Sign up with your phone number.
• You need to do this because OPay will use this phone number to generate your account number. Enter your number and tap “Next“.
• Submit your full name, date of birth, and email address correctly.
• Choose a secure password for your Opay account. The password should be a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Verify your phone number using an OTP that will be sent to the number. Enter this OTP when you get it, to the space provided on the app.

Get your Opay account number. After your phone number has been verified, your opay account number will be shown on the app’s home screen. You can start using your account to perform transactions.

How To Upgrade Opay Account Online

You can simply upgrade your Opay account with your mobile phone or online but you will need to provide some relevant information to upgrade your account from one tier to another such as:

• Phone number
• A Bank Verification Number (BVN)
• An Identity (ID) Card
• A recent utility bill

How to upgrade your Opay account: Tier 1

Tier 1 has a daily transaction limit of 50,000.00 naira and a maximum balance of 300,000.00 naira i.e. you cannot transact with more than 50,000.00 naira daily and you cannot have more than 300,000.00 naira in your bank account.

If you want to remove this limit, you will need to upgrade your account by providing the required documents.

• Open the Opay app and log in to your account.
• On your dashboard, click on your profile image icon located at the top left corner of your screen.
• Now, scroll down a little and click on the “Upgrade to KYC 1” button.
• Then, fill in all the required information to upgrade your account

To upgrade to Tier 1, you will need your Bank verification number (BVN). Since level 1 is the first level let’s see how to upgrade Opay account to level 2 now.

How to upgrade your Opay account: Tier 2
Tier 2 has a daily transaction limit of 200,000.00 naira and a maximum balance of 500,000.00 naira i.e. you cannot transact with more than 200,000.00 naira daily and you cannot have more than 500,000.00 naira in your bank account.

To upgrade to a Tier 2 account, you will need to provide a valid ID card like NIN, Voter’s card, International passport, and driver’s license.

• Open the Opay app and log in to your account.
• On your dashboard, click on your profile image icon located at the top left corner of your screen.
• Now, scroll down a little and click on the “Upgrade to KYC 2” button.
• Then, fill in all the required information to upgrade your account.

How to upgrade your Opay account: Tier 3

Tier 3 has a daily transaction limit of 5 million naira and an unlimited maximum balance i.e. you cannot transact with more than 5 million naira daily, but there is no limit to the amount of money you can have in your bank account at any time.

To upgrade to the Tier 3 account, you will need to provide a proof of address like Utility bill, etc.

• Open the Opay app and log in to your account.
• On your dashboard, click on your profile image icon located at the top left corner of your screen.
• Now, scroll down a little and click on the “Upgrade to KYC 3” button.
• Then, fill in all the required information to upgrade your account.

How To Upgrade My Opay Account Without BVN

You can open an Opay account with or without BVN. Maybe you don’t have a BVN or you don’t want your bank account linked to OPay for security reasons. Install the OPay App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your mobile phone.

• Open the app and tap ”Register”.
• Enter your phone number and tap ”Next“.
• A verification code will be sent to your phone, type it in and click ”Next.”
• Provide details like your name, date of birth, and email address. Tap “Next”.
• Choose a password and then proceed.
• OPay will ask you to link your bank account. Skip this step by clicking ”No Bank Account”.

You will be asked to submit a means of identification like a National ID card, driver’s license, or international passport. Ensure the ID is clear before you “Submit”  Opay will review your account and you’ll get a notification within 24 hours if it is approved.

How Much Can Opay Account Hold With BVN

When you open an Opay account, you will be asked to provide your BVN number to be able to upgrade to Tier 3 but if you are an Opay new user, you can use Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Click on Upgrade to move from tier one to tier two by entering your BVN. Tap on verify. Once it’s successful, you can now use your OPay without limits by having access to ₦200,000 daily limit and ₦500,000 maximum amount your account can hold.
