Azeez Adeshina Fashola, born on 10 May 1991, who is popularly known as Naira Marley in doubt has proven his worth since he stroke the limelight.

The Nigeria born singer who rose to fame with his single Marry Juana has been nominated severally in the different categories of music awards around Africa which have staked him as the king in his vocation.

Here are the Nigerian music star, Naira Marley’s music awards and nomination so far. 

Nominations:

Was nominated for the 2019 City People Music Awards in the category of the artiste of the year.

When Naira Marley was released from the prison after he suffered severe brutality of being an alleged Yahoo boy, he came out and released a song that changed his life which he titled “Soapy”

His single “Soapy” won the passion of almost the whole Nigerian Citizens and he gained prominence. He was further nominated in various music awards with just the single “Soapy”

In 2019, he was nominated for the City People Music Awards in the category of the  Artiste of the Year (Male) which he unfortunately didn’t win.

Was nominated for 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Song of the Year

The following year, the same single “Soapy” bagged him another nomination which is best described as 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Song of the Year.

His fan base couldn’t win on this one and he lost to the other top Nigerian music artists in this category.

2019 City People Music Awards street song of the year

With the same single “Soapy” he was nominated for the 2019 city people music awards in the category of the song of the year where he lost to the bigger artists.

He was nominated for the 2020 Sound City MVP Awards_ Viewers choice

He was also nominated for the 2020 Sound City MVP Awards_ Viewers choice which earned him his first music awards.

After several nominations which were thrust by his single “Soapy”, he recorded his first award after he emerged as the winner of the 2020 Sound City MVP Awards_ Viewers choice.

Was nominated for the 14th headies annual music awards in the category of the best street song.

This was his last nomination as it stands. However, despite being nominated for the 14th headies annual music award in the category of the best street song, the DMW star, singer, and songwriter, Mayorkun emerged as the winner with the song, “geng” which pissed thousands of people.

Most fans added that the DMW songwriter and singer shouldn’t have emerged as the winner of the street single in the 14th headies annual music awards_ says Naira Marley is the only street king in Nigeria.
