Top Naija can reveal that each of Nigeria’s Super Eagles players will get $10,000 for their victory against Egypt and Sudan at the current Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Super Eagles have qualified for the AFCON second round from Group D with their victory.
This follows an agreement between the Nigeria Football Federation and the Eagles about the method of payment for victories and draws at the tournament.
It was also learned that a meeting between the players and NFF officials took place before to the commencement of the tournament at Garuoa.
Following the encounter, the Eagles are scheduled to get $5000 for a win and $2,500 for a tie.
“There is an agreement that the players will earn $5000 for a victory and half of that for a tie, but they will not receive anything if they lose,” an Eagles official stated on the condition of anonymity.
It was also learned that the team’s players and officials would be paid their incentives in full after they qualified from the group stage of the competition.
The Eagles advanced to the round of 16 of the competition by defeating the Falcons of Jediane 3-1 at the Stade Roumdé Adjia, with to goals from Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Moses Simon.
In the 70th minute, Sudanese striker Khedr Daiyeen scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot.
A team official told media in Garoua that the three-time African champions, who had yet to be given two-match bonuses prior to the start of the competition, will now be awarded their bonuses for Tuesday’s triumph against Egypt, as well as the outstanding bonuses.
“We don’t talk about how we give incentives to players in the media,” our insider continued.
“Has anyone made a complaint?” We’re here to accomplish a purpose, and we don’t want to be sidetracked by these concerns.

Nigeria currently has six points in Group D and has qualified for the Round of 16 with one game remaining.
