Edrisah Kenzo Musuuza is a 34-year-old Ugandan musician who was born on 25th December 1989. He is known by his stage name Eddy Kenzo and is the CEO of the Uganda National Musicians Federation and a member of Big Talent Entertainment, he is not only a CEO but also a music executive and president.

He rose to fame thanks to his hit song Stamina, which earned him a lot of fans all over the world. In the year 2014, he featured the ghetto kids in a famous video that gained him global recognition alongside the release of his single, “Sitya Loss”. He has won many awards like the BET Awards Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award in 2018,  and multiple All Africa Music Awards, and has been nominated for the Grammy Awards in 2022 under Best Global Performance. He is the first Ugandan to achieve these feats and “Tweyagale.” is his most-viewed song on YouTube with a total of 145 million views.

Born in Kampala, Uganda, Joseph Mayanja is the second on our top 10 list, he is 45 years old and was born on the year 30 April 1979. He is talented and popularly known by the stage name Jose ChameleoneThe Ugandan singer is known to sing in languages like Luganda, English, and Swahili.

Jose Chameleone’s career kickstarted in the year 1996 at Kampala his hometown where he was a DJ at the Missouri night club. However, in the year 1998, he became an active musician in the country Kenya and signed to a record label known as Ogopa Deejays which helped him drop his first song named “Bageya” which featured a Kenyan artist Redsan. His song “Badilisha” has over 18 million views which is his highest view.

Her fame started as a result of her special and melodious voice which attracted a lot of fans, her talents stretch to her combining Afrobeat, R&B, and Ugandan traditional sounds in her music.

Her songs are not just songs, the lyrics carry important and meaningful lyrics and messages, her song  “Guttuja” is her most viewed on YouTube with a total of 15 million views.

Her hard work gave her a fan base from in and outside the country and left her as the best female Ugandan artist.

Fourth on our list is Sheebah Karungi, she is a female Ugandan artist who has worked hard to make it to the fourth position. Her stage name is Queen Karma and Sheebah. She is not only a singer but also a dancer, actress, and feminist activist.  Her songs are mostly fused with Rhythm and blues and Dancehall. She previously joined a dance group in 2006 which she later left and began her music career and dropped her hit song   “Ice Cream” which catapulted her to fame. She has won many awards due to her hard work and resilience.

Currently, in 2024, she was elected the vice president of the Uganda National Musician Federation assisting Eddy Kenzo who is the president of the federation.

Namukwaya Hajara Diana popularly known by her stage name Spice Diana is 28 years of age and was born in the year 1996. She is renowned for her songs which she fuses Afrobeat, dancehall, and Ugandan pop. Her fame earned her collaborations both locally and internationally. her song “Siri Regular” gained her most viewed on YouTube with 8 million views.

Diana being flexible and talented earned her the 5th spot on our list and also don’t forget how she has earned numerous awards and nominations in the journey of her career.

The Ugandan Duo Radio and Weasel has been known to be signed to the record label Goodlyfe Crew, their musical career started in 2008 and they are still active, Their duo was formed due to their prominence, and they made a huge impact on the Ugandan music industry.

Unfortunately, one of the duo singers Radio passed away and the other continued to carry the music bravely solo, Radio’s death didn’t stop their impact on the Ugandan music industry.

The 38-year-old renowned Ugandan singer David Lutalo was born on 8 March 1986, his talent doesn’t end with being a musician but also stretched to him being a performer. His fame started 10 years back with his hit song  Kapapaala in 2008, he then established his record label  “Da Hares.

His song “Kabisi Ka Ndagala” is the most listened-to song with over 5 million views. David Lutalo is famous for infusing 3 different genres Afrobeat, reggae, and Ugandan pop in his songs. You should know that he has collaborated with other famous artists, and thankfully to his unique, deep, and rich voice, he has gathered a fan base in and outside Uganda.

Moses Ssali also known as Bebe Cool is a renowned Ugandan artist born on 1 September 1977, he is a Singer-songwriter, artist, record producer, actor, and Philanthropist. He is known for the reggae and ragga genres. He joined the Firebase crew in the 1990s when his career started.

The song “Love You Every Day,” has the highest number of views with over 10 million views. The talented Bebe Cool has received many awards and praises since the start of his career.
