Biography
Born on September 5, 1990, Mercy Nnenda Chinwo-Uzochikwa is better known by her stage name, Mercy Chinwo. She is a talented singer, composer, and actor. At the tender age of eight, she was invited to join the church choir.
In 2012, she achieved widespread recognition after triumphing on the popular talent show Nigerian Idol. She triumphed over the other contestants due to the extraordinary quality of her singing voice.
Mercy Chinwo became well-known when her song “Excess Love” became a commercial success (2018). Her status as a leading singer in the Nigerian Gospel music ministry was firmly established, and she received widespread praise as a result of this song.

Early Life
Mercy Nnenda Chinwo was born on September 5, 1990, and later changed her name to Chinwo. Her biological father is a mystery, but she does know that her stepfather’s name is Jerry Eze. Her mother’s name is Eno Jerry.
When asked about her father, she has been vague. But she’s the first girl and the fourth kid in the family. She was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria, and she is a famous Nigerian singer. The Nigerian state of Rivers is where Mercy Chinwo was born and raised.
Even though Mercy Chinwo’s father died when she was a little child, she has never spoken publicly about who he was. As the eldest child, she was responsible for her family’s well-being, thus she took her musical pursuits very seriously.
Career
Mercy Chinwo began her singing career at the church when she was only eight years old when she was invited to join the church’s youth chorus. Soon after she started singing in the adult choir, she was asked to lead the group musically.

Not only did she help bring this about, but she also collaborated with gospel music’s biggest stars including Sammie Okposo and Chris Morgan.
She became more interested in music and began going to talent shows, where she learned about Nigerian Idols. As a result of her victory in the second season of the Nigerian talent competition, she gained widespread recognition.
She made her first appearance in the music scene in 2015 with the single Testimony, and then in 2016 with the single Igwe (2016). On February 20, 2018, Mercy Chinwo released her first proper studio album, titled The Cross: My Gaze.
The Dixtrit Media release has 16 tracks of modern gospel music and was put out by EeZee Conceptz. In addition to Shady B and Fiokee, Chris Morgan and Olaitan Odoko also made guest appearances. As time has gone on, she has continued to release encouraging praise music.
Mercy Chinwo is a member of the EeZee Concept family of artists. The owner and manager of the EeZee Concept record label are Mr. Ezekiel ThankGod Onyedikachukwu (Eezee Tee). It’s a Christian record company doing God’s mission on earth, and its artists are filled with zeal for a last, divine move.
In addition to Mercy Chinwo, Tim Godfrey is in charge of other music ministers that utilize music to spread the gospel, such as Frank Edwards, Preye Odede, Hilda Dokubo, and others.

Acting Career
It was at the House of Gold that Mercy Chinwo made her acting debut. Ghanaian and Nigerian filmmaker Pascal Amanfo helmed and Yvonne Nelson produced the comedy film House of Gold.

Personal Life
Mercy Chinwo had been single for quite some time, but on June 23, 2022, she shared the happy news that she was about to be married. Her fiance is Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, a resident pastor of The Waterbrook Church (TWB), which has been in operation since 2009 and can be found in Lekki, Lagos State.
Mercy Chinwo has regularly ministered with Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, who is a devout Christian. This is evidence of their long-standing friendship and regular social interactions.
Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa is now married to Mercy Chinwo. In 2022, the pair tied the knot. Due to the recentness of their wedding, they have yet to have a family.
